Relephant has completed another significant project in the Turkish market. The project Yenicarsim.com, a new e-commerce initiative by Hurriyet, was released on September 9, 2011

Yenicarsim is an e-commerce platform that allows registered companies to rent an online shop and sell their products in a virtual environment. When comparing to existing online market places, Yeniçarşım differentiates itself in two ways; firstly, only new products are sold, second hand products are not on offer, and secondly, only members of the chamber of commerce are allowed tosell via Yenicarsim.

From the first day of its release, Yenicarsim has attracted a lot of interest, with a couple of hundred shops and more than 150.000 products already on sale.

The platform facilitates shop owners to quickly open and manage their online store(s) and allows them to advertise effectively, therefore reaching more customers and increasing sales.

Conducting business on Yenicarsim is reliable and secure due to Trusted Third Party functionalities offered on the site. Through TTP both the vendor and the purchasing customer are protected against malicious and fraudulent practices on either side..

The extensive backoffice of Yenicarsim consists of multiple panels through which Yenicarsim staff can easily alter content on the site as well as track and report on all processes involved.

The Yenicarsim project was developed using known Microsoft technologies such as ASP.NET, C# and MS SQL, along with the Apache Solr Enterprise Search Platform to facilitate search & browse. Relephant has been responsible for architecture design, back-end development (including the search framework) and front-end implementation of the Yenicarsim project.
