Relephant develops user friendly websites for our clients. Complex data made logically accessible. Search quickly, find easily and always geared to increased conversion. Users' wishes hereby play a central role.
Naturally, we make use of the best tools and techniques. We do not have an initial preference for the implementation of a particular search software solution. Depending on the specific requirements and wishes of the client we look for the best, tailor made solution. Our partners include prominent guided navigation software vendors such as American Endeca and Dutch Fredhopper. We also do projects in Solr. We are careful not to develop software that is already on the market. All too often we see in-house built search & browse software solutions which cannot compete with the market standard. Rather we would advise to pay license fees (or use open source such as Solr) and then use our expertise to work on the specific requirements, unique to your company/organization. At the end of the day it works out far better, more flexible and you get a better site for less money.
When developing complex sites we prefer to work with Microsoft .Net technology (C# in combination with Microsoft SQL server), mainly due to the integrated environment, allowing programmers to be more productive. However, we also have extensive experience in open source development (PHP in combination with MySQL).
